The road is symbolic of Tachikawa city, the largest commercial area in Tama district, and a place where people go to relax. The performance will be held under the Tama Monorail overpass which connects the northern and southern areas of Tama.

▶ The audience will be standing throughout the performance.
▶ There is no parking lot at each venue, so please use public transportation.
▶ The order of appearance will be announced on the website on the day.
▶ Rain or shine. In the case of stormy weather there are possibilities of cancellation.

ARTIST




Atsuhiro Ito

Artist and OPTRON player. He was born in 1965. He started sound performances at exhibitions and other venues in 1998 and produced an original sound equipment called an Optron, using fluorescent light, which is the same material as the installation works. Until now, he has performed at various exhibitions and sound performances inside and outside of Japan. Apart from solo performances, he is involved in ZVIZMO (withTentenko), Kazuo Imai Trio (with Kazuo Imai and Manabu Suzuki), entangle (with Iwa Motors) and others.

Yoko Higashino
Artistic Director and Curator of DANCE TRUCK TOKYO

Dancer and choreographer for the ANTIBODIES Collective. Yoko has presented her work in the performing arts and music scene since the late 1990s. She directed the Dance Company BABY-Q from 2000 to 2014 and won various prizes such as the grand prize of the Toyota Choreography Awards (Choreographer of the Next Generation Award) in 2005. In 2015 she formed the “ANTIBODIES Collective” in Kyoto, and they gained attention in site-specific works with multi genre artists. She has taken a leadership role in the Japan Dance Truck Association since 2011.

Yu Okamoto (TABATHA)

Based in Tokyo while actively performing inside and outside of Japan, Yu leads the dance group TABATHA. Beyond stage performance, she engages in interdisciplinary creations including performance for film and photography, choreography for music videos, TV commercials, and idols etc. She won several awards such as the Yokohama Dance Collection 2019 Competition I.

Wataru Kitao

In 2009, Wataru launched Baobab and was in charge of choreography, composition, and direction of all his works.. He has choreographed for many plays and TV dramas and also works as a workshop lecturer and festival director. He has performed as a dancer and actor in over 20 cities in 4 countries. He received the Best Dancer Award at the Yokohama Dance Collection 2018 Competition I as well as many other awards. He is also the 2020 Bessie Award nominee (the NY Dance and Performance Awards, Outstanding Performer).

KODOMOKYOJIN

KODOMOKYOJIN is a troupe of theatrical performing artists, formed in 2005 by the brothers Takashi and Kanji Masuyama. We are trying to reach every aspect of human life e.g. fear, happiness, anger, dreams, stupidity etc. with no taboo nor limits. Most of our stories are set in a fantasy & surreal world and we use a lot of black humours. Our works include a series of plays which is showed in Japanese style old house with only 20 seats, a series of strange musicals (such as samurai- musical) and so on.

SNATCH

She performed at various night clubs and cabaret events with the spirit of GAY CULTURE. Under the name of Norico Sunayama, she joined Mika Kurosawa & Dancers, and later she becomes a member of the artist group Dumb Type.

BUSHMAN (Ikumi Kurosu & Tezuka Bausch)

Hosted by Kurosu Ikukai. The dance company is mainly conducted by members of the modern dance club, Daito Bunka University. Received the Yokohama Dance Collection 2017 Competition I Jury Prize. Becoming a hot topic with a unique world view that seeks out an unusual body. They performed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre’s Theatre West and other places. Receive the Japan Dance Forum Award.
