What is the Dance Truck Project?

It is a site-specific project that uses the cargo box of a truck as a unique movable stage that incorporates the surrounding landscape. The Japan Dance Truck Association started in 2012 as a joint project with the Offsite Dance Project in coordination with the original Dance Truck in the US. In this venture, cutting-edge artists from a variety of disciplines participate in contemporary dance performances that explore the effective use of vacant spaces in and around cities. By networking with various municipalities, this project aims to find new forms of mobility for dance.
